Learn the keyboard or start singing today

Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for years, our instructors are here to help you improve. We develop a strong set of fundamentals while keeping the lessons fun and engaging. 

Our piano lessons will teach you hand independence, expand your reading ability, and grow your understanding of music theory.

Our vocal lessons start with technique exercises focused on developing pitch, breath control and increasing range. Then you apply those techniques to a song you want to work on.

Meet Our Piano and Voice Instructors

Alessia Paolini

VOCAL AND PIANO INSTRUCTOR

Italian Soprano Alessia Paolini (She, Her) received her second Master’s Degree in Voice Performance in May of 2018. In 2015, she earned a Master’s degree in Voice at the Conservatory of Music of L’Aquila, her hometown, where she also earned a BA in Piano Performance. She has performed in France, Sweden, Italy, Austria, and New York City. She’s versatile in different styles, from Opera, her main focus, to Jazz.

Alongside performing, Alessia loves teaching and has been doing so since 2010, privately and in conjunction with various institutions. Her goal is to offer her students the right tools to tackle the difficulties of singing and playing the piano with proficiency, and discover the joy of making music, with fun lessons tailored to students of all ages.

Joanna Hake

VOCAL AND PIANO INSTRUCTOR

Joanna has been an artist, musician, and songwriter for most of her life. She grew up idolizing her father, an extremely accomplished pianist, organist, and flautist, who began teaching her piano at a very young age. In High School, Joanna earned the opportunity to participate at the ARTS Festival in Orlando, Fla. where she won 1st in Monologue, 2nd in Singing, and 3rd in the Cold Read. As a result of ARTS, Joanna attended a 4 week Music Theatre workshop at New York Film Academy where she studied with various Broadway and Off- Broadway Instructors in Dance, Acting, and Voice/Singing. After competing, composing, and performing throughout most of high school and college, Joanna earned a BFA degree with an emphasis in Music Theatre from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. While studying in college, Joanna began taking on vocal students at the suggestion of her own voice teacher.

  • Following her degree, Joanna was on cast at Sterling Renaissance Festival in Sterling, NY, where vocal coaching became a necessary skill in a time period where “microphones don’t exist”. After Sterling, Joanna took on an Administrative position at Luna Stage in West Orange, NJ where she met and worked with various artists of the stage and screen as well as Grammy Award Winning producers. In addition, Joanna began teaching piano and voice in that area with Alexa Teebo Voice Studio. After a total of 12 years, Joanna has been able to cultivate her own way of teaching, involving the body as a whole. Her results have yielded excellent self- confidence, progress in self- discipline and performance, and genuinely positive attitudes from her students, regardless of age. Joanna believes that a person’s voice is one of the greatest gifts we get in this life and she is very excited to continue sharing that message with Boulevard Music!

Maddie Radwan

VOCAL INSTRUCTOR

Maddie has been singing for over 20 years. It all started with a hello kitty radio and burned CDs made by her dad. Her passion continued throughout the years being in school choirs and eventually going to Villa Maria College for Music Industry and Vocal Performance. During college, Maddie studied with some of the best musicians in WNY learning jazz, classical, rock, gospel and pop styles of singing.

She then moved to Nashville for 4 years working within music curriculum and moved back to Buffalo where she formed two bands: Pour La Nuit (acoustic alternative folk) and Thorns for Lovers (rock/metal). On top of this, she is involved heavily in mental health nonprofit work, using music as a focal point for healing. Yearly, she puts on a fundraiser show raising money for various mental health nonprofit around WNY.

Nia King

PIANO AND SAXOPHONE INSTRUCTOR

Nia is a second-year music education student at SUNY Buffalo State. She is a multi-instrumentalist with her primary instrument being piano and her secondary being saxophone, which she plays in the Buffalo State Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Saxophone Ensemble.

In 2024, Nia was a participant in the NYSSMA Area-All state Jazz Band as lead alto saxophone. In 2025, Nia won the John Philip Sousa Award as well as the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award at Mount Saint Mary Academy honoring her dependability, musicianship, and leadership.

Ross Chua

PIANO, VOICE, MUSIC COMPOSITION & PRODUCTION INSTRUCTOR

Ross Chua’s approach to teaching music is informed by a myriad of diverse experiences. He graduated with two degrees from Syracuse University: a bachelor’s in Music Composition (Setnor School of Music, 2020) and a master’s in Audio Arts with a focus on Music Production (S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, 2021). Since graduating, he’s worked with hundreds of students and several different schools in Western New York, including: the Batavia, Oakfield-Alabama, and Gates-Chili School Districts; St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Batavia; and Genesee Community College.

Besides that, he’s been involved in an expansive list of musical organizations: the Genesee Symphony Orchestra; art collective GOArt; the arts initiative for the Autism Nature Trail in Letchworth State Park; WNY rock band Indigo Flow; and Batavia recording studio Old Bear Records. This far-reaching knowledge of different musical applications gives Ross a holistic understanding of music, from creation to performance to recording. He is a confident teacher of music composition, piano, voice, trumpet, guitar, bass, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We have pianos and drums on location. Students must have their own instruments for all other lesson types.

  • Students will have a weekly lesson.

  • We have both half hour and hour options available.

  • All lessons are held at our location at 1090 Niagara Falls Blvd., Tonawanda, NY 14150.

  • No, we only offer lessons in-person.

  • We begin enrollment at ages 7 or older. For students ages 5 and 6, we ask that you reach out to us about scheduling a free assessment lesson to see if the student is ready to begin lessons.

  • There is a one time, non-refundable registration fee of $30 per student due at the time registration. Tuition is $119 per month for 30 minutes lessons per student. First month's payment is due at time of registration. Boulevard Music Lessons reserves the right to remove any student from the schedule and collect any fees associated with late payment.

  • We offer one makeup per month due to absence. We require 24 hours notice to be eligible for a makeup lesson. On months where the student would receive five lessons in a month due to there being five weeks, we don’t offer a makeup for the first absence.

  • It is at the teacher’s discretion to end a lesson early due to any student misbehavior. Any student arriving 15 minutes late or later will not be given a lesson.
